As a key member of the Bloomin' Brands Development team, this

role will be responsible for the management of specific design projects from

concept to execution in collaboration with the design development and

construction teams.  This role will be

critical member of the team and will work with the Directors, Design Managers

and Designers across all brands, domestic and international, and will be

champions of cross concept Back of House equipment specifications and design.


  • Provide food service plans, elevations, renderings, and details for restaurant projects
  • Maintain working knowledge of all back of house equipment specifications and details and operational work using that equipment
  • Provide, maintain and approve shop drawings of proposed back of house equipment.  Shop drawings and specs will be used to ensure consistency across all brands and throughout all franchisees and countries
  • Problem solve equipment failures and operational issues with internal operations, facilities, renovations, supply chain and external
  • Provide plans for Design Managers to gain approval from Concept Presidents on new elements, equipment specifications, and kitchen designs
  • Support Design Managers with functional, construction ready details, such as design blocks, for all back of house elements, domestic and international
  • Maintain a Brand Standards Manual that includes all pertinent details, specifications, and applications for all designs and design elements
  • Manage external consultants who will partner with the Design team in order to concept, develop, and execute new designs for our brands
  • Manage special project development, tests, labs and project roll-outs. Support construction project managers with special requirements related to BOH equipment functions and installations
  • Inspect competed project with construction project managers, general contractors and pertinent third party vendors, generate punch list of discrepancies and follow up with acceptable solutions to work with brand operations.  




degree design related field, preferred


  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in Architecture, Hospitality or Food Service Design, or related field
  • Proficient in AutoCAD & Revit, required
  • Exemplary communication and organization skills, required
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, required
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop or Google SketchUp, or similar rendering and modeling software, preferred
  • 2-3 years of project management experience - proven experience in successful multi concept environment, preferred
